Marian Weston can draw from a wealth of experience spanning all areas of expatriate life over several decades and continents – from her childhood in East Africa to overseas postings in the Gulf, Jordan and Sri Lanka with her own family.
Combining the challenges of repatriating with teenage children, and responsibilities as a ‘stay at home’ parent proved interesting! Frustrated by a lack of useful resources on ‘the short-term assignment lifestyle’ and aware from her own experience that the prime requirement was for a tangible resource which would offer support and practical help, Marian was motivated to research and write her first book, ‘Alone at Home’ .
‘Alone at Home’ is Marian’s first book and is available through Amazon and her website. She already has extensive experience writing for expatriate magazines, newspapers and specialist websites, Interviewed by Jenny Murray on Radio 4 and the Wall St Journal she has also presented on expatriate issues at Farnham Castle Training Centre and at the Families in Global Transition Conference (FIGT) in Houston in March 2007.

This brand new handbook is designed for all those exposed to the concept of short term assignments. "Alone at Home" is certain to become an indispensable tool to both employers and employees alike, and, most importantly, to their loved ones contemplating managing alone. |
